A Whole New World

Lucy is having fun at Princess Dance Camp this week. Alot of her friends are doing it, so she is thrilled to be with them every morning. I asked her to give me a ballet pose, and this is what I got. (she may be more ghetto than ballet, like her momma). I admit when I took her to buy the ballet leotard, tights, and shoes, my breath got taken away again. We are entering a whole new world of things to do - ballet included. Time is truly flying.

Sweet Annie wanted to wear a leotard, too, so we dressed her up this morning as well. As usual, her sweet voice is such a blessing, "I'm a balla-weena!!!" She stayed home and we tried to have our dance camp. But, all she really wanted to do was hold Bonnie.

Kelley Girls

Our cousin Anna Beth came over for lunch today! We love having another "Kelley girl." There are so many fun times ahead with all 4 of these cuties. We attempted another photo session and the girls did good this time. Eventually the older ones wanted to "hold" the younger ones and then they all ended up on top of each other. But - we got 4 smiles at the same time - thanks to Aunt Shelley's photography! Hope you enjoy!

Growing Up

There's been alot of growing up going on at our house lately. Here's a few pics to show you what's been going on.

Lucy started actually pedalling (?sp) on her tricycle (instead of sitting on it and asking to be pushed).

Annie is asking to wear big girl panties. The two times I've let her wear them, she's refused to potty. Don't quite think she's ready, which is fine with me!

Bonnie ate cereal for the first time and loved it. Very little mess, I was proud of her. Though I'm sure there's plenty of mess to come.

And, finally, Wes is wearing princess crowns. Such a good girl daddy!

Playdate for Annie

This did my heart good today. Annie got to have her own playdate today (plus Bonnie). Annie Rose Allen came over this morning to play with Annie. I have really been wanting to do this for Annie. It is so easy to do it for Lucy, and Annie just gets to play with Lucy's friends. I've been on a mission and today, it happened. Lucy's sweet friend Lillie had her over to play and Annie Rose came to play with Annie. It was so fun and Annie Rose has super manners for a two year old. Their little voices were such a joy to hear. They loved playing with babies and holding the real baby, too!

"You're gonna miss this . . ."

Ok, here's how naptime has gone so far today. I got Bonnie and Annie down easy. Lucy, not so easy. She always wants a book or story, etc. She ask for The Lion King (not short!), so I speed read it and then promise to lay with her for a few minutes. I go to sleep immediately, of course. Lucy continues to talk to me, ask me to wake up, and open my eyelids for me. The phone rings and I run to answer it, glad that someone has woken me up and saved me from this not so restful sleep. While I talk to my friend, Lucy comes downstairs several times and calls for me from upstairs. I don't go, b/c I'm trying to teach her about rest time and that, "Mommy is a better mommy if we all have a rest period." As I hang up the phone, Lucy is still calling for me from upstairs. Knowing that I don't want her to wake up Bonnie and Annie, I decide to go up there and deal with her. As I put my foot on the first step, I can smell what Lucy has been cooking. It's a sinking feeling knowing what you are heading upstairs to find. Poop smeared all over the bathroom floor. So, I clean it up, send Lucy back to her room, call Wes about it. As I try to figure out why she would feel the need to smear the poop, Wes sings, "Selwyn, you're gonna miss this . . ."

4 Months Old

Sweet Bonnie was 4 months old yesterday. As I've already said, time is flying by. This child is so sweet and takes the little attention she gets with a smile. Everytime I look at her she grins, and I think it's because she's so excited I'm looking at her. I'm so grateful for God's plan and these 3 girls so close together. I'm just continually praying for His grace to make up for what they don't get from me. Hope you enjoy this sweet grin. I sure do!

It's Tasty, Mama!!

Oh, to be a child again and get so excited about the little things. Here we are eating ice cream on the square with Muddie and Annie screams, "It's tasty, Mama!!!"

Mom

We're still here! Not much blogging last week as my mom was here helping me clean out closets. Here she is with the girls up on the Marietta Square last Friday night. I cannot say enough good things about my mom. The only thing I would change about her is how far away she lives. Mom is so wise, she has yet to give me bad advice (i don't always take her advice, but it's never bad.) It is a great thing to look back on how you were raised and be so thankful for it. Thanks, Mom, for everything! We miss you already!

Time Flies

I've never been one of those moms who tears up about kids growing up, but I am becoming one. Lucy and Annie are going to camp this week at First Baptist (where they will go to school next year). They put on their backpacks this morning and I thought, "Oh, no! They're getting big!" Lucy especially looked like a really big girl today. I'm always singing the Trace Adkins song "You're gonna miss this." to myself during those frustrating times when all 3 are screaming. I didn't have to make myself sing it today. I know I will miss this!

Big Sisters

Our friends the Pugmires took us to the lake this weekend for the 4th. They have two girls, Maddox 4 and Mary Hollis 21mos, and they are expecting Millie at the beginning of August. The Pugs are a sweet fun family and they will have two of the best big sisters for Millie. These girls loved baby Bonnie! Thanks, Pugs for a great weekend! We loved it!

Daddy

I'm so thankful for my "baby's daddy." He is the fun parent to our kids. These girls adore him and he is certainly "in love" with his girls. Seeing their faces light up when he comes home is priceless. Once he gets here, they no longer want Mommy (and mostly cry for him during the day, too, especially when they are in trouble). Not only is he super to them, but he's super to me, too. Wes has always been a hands on dad, but he's stepped up his already great "game" when Bonnie came along. Thank you, Lord, for a wonderful mate!

Imagination

We've been at home the past two days (thank you, Lord!), so we haven't had much exciting to blog about. Here's a cute story I would love to share though. We had many visits with Aunt Beth, Kaci, Wilson and Woodruff over the past two weeks in Columbus. One day at the pool, Lucy put on Kaci's sun hat and said, "I'm Kaci!" Then Wilson (her kissing cousin) wanted to push the baby stroller and off they went around the pool together. They announced that they were married and this was their baby in the stroller. I asked Lucy how long they had been married. "A few hours," she replied. I then asked how old their baby was. Lucy said, "Forty months." (which meant that Lucy's baby was older than she is!) I so admire Lucy's imagination and thank God that He gave it to her. I hope she never loses it.
